no apologies required. IMO its in both parties best interests to finalise the documentation asap. The lack of a signed agreement cuts both ways.
The preferred farminee would also have put alot of management time into getting this deal across the line and it would be aware that unless it gets a signed deal asap it could still be gazumped.
