Approx 260 mil options left to convert, you would think it is in CHK's interest to get as many converted as possible. Even if half was converted that's still $1.3mil in the bank for another quarter of exploration. It also washes the new heads through into sticky hands from people who have converted.
You are right in saying positive drilling news will be the only way they get that done. In their words they did say the assays from Pernatty c will be ready in a few weeks on the 8th April, but CHK has shown in the past they are never early.
