I also watched Breaking Bad recently and generally liked it.
During the early episodes, particularly, I kept thinking John Cleese would
have been better in the lead roll.
There is a definite lack of "nice" characters. The only on is the son.

Its an oldie but a goody. Not soft on killing off popular characters.
If you like Judy Geeson, its a definite winner. I think she's wonderful.

Robbie Coltrane in a series that is very good.

One Foot in the Grave, dark humour.
The Good Life, Felicity Kendal is scrumptious.
The original Cosmos Series with Carl Sagan, watch with your children, to inspire them.
From the Earth to the Moon, HBO series.
