You had the whole weeks footy results in the pink paper, knew who was on top of the ladder for the next SEVEN days, and the next day it was a toss up of either World of Sport or the (real) World Championship Wrestling (BE THERE!! - per Jack Little). After that you could watch Frosty Millar or Phil Cleary punch the bejeebers out of the opposition in the VFL while Mum did the ironing in the lounge room.
What will our kids be saying in 20-30 years time about the night their parents went to a $1 party after PRR hit the magic dollar?
