    I agree.
    June/July freezing cold with a clear sky is the best for looking up.
    I’m a couple of hours north of Perth (not always) and Big Night Sky’s don’t get better than at this time.

    Up around Mekka or any other desert areas are fantastic for that big sky as well.
    As a kid I saw a glimpse of the Southern lights one May, that was the mid/late 70’s though and I doubt if I would ever see it again from that position with the added light pollution??
