re: timeframe Very valid questions from both Golden Bug and smm.
My missive was actually typed before I saw today's announcement, but did not change the argument too much.
Two points from that announcement -one the capex is still significant for a plant that costs only a few bob to buy. Allowing for dismantling/movement/reassembly/site works (change of $10m including purchase price) the balance is still significant. That implies to me that the pre strip will be considerable and /or hefty plant modifications.
In part this is answered by the second point-the last para in the release. Early production scenarios being considered-this is potentially where I was trying to get to in my previous scribbles.
My crystal bails are no better than anyone else's. Time frame for an early start-documentation for plant acquisition/staff rehiring if appropriate/government approvals outstanding for roads etc/environmental issues if any/site preparation and prestripping/appropriate funding of working capital. Say 3 months? (Now the MD will be nagged, sorry Mr Cairns...LOL.)
Am on the buy side.
Cheers,TAS
