ASX about 4 yrs US Markets (NYSE, NASD, AMEX, OTC, Options) 20+yrs
In a world of hurt at present but the world is different now than 2007. The NASDAQ tech bubble hurt too (work in computer tech) but this one is leaving a mark.
Still, I just can't see the world operating without fossil fuels this decade. Alternatives cannot be deployed fast and reliably enough and emerging economies (Asia) are gobbling fossil fuels at an increasing rate.
Somehow I think it will be "different" in 2013.
BTW, good news doesn't always produce good stock prices.
As was posted here re Cheasapeake (which I hold) they have discovered a major new play - the Utica Shale - where they own over 1.25M acres and estimate the value at over $15B and the stock price moves like this:
prior to annc : approx $31 on annc : approx $35 today's close: under $27
so more than 20% down. Makes no sense (unless you believe that their debt/equity leverage will kill them).
Its possible, that CEL completes TC with a great independent resource that can be booked and the stock price could go down.
Not to much shocks me these days. Surprises yes.
