below i have attatched a link titled The Petroleum Resource Potential of the Amadeus Basin by John Warburton, Titus Murray and Torey Marshall which was presented at the Central Australian Basins Symposium in Alice Springs, August 16th – 18th 2005. JH was that pleased with the finding that he claimed “So it’s good timing for us”. “It’s certainly going to open a lot of people’s eyes about the Amadeus Basin.”
There have been many newcomers onto the threads with lack of faith that we are potentially sitting on a huge resource that could reap exponential rewards. The link attatched is an in depth research report which alluded JH to strategically accumulate strategic land in the Amadeus basin. Obviously the report must of been music to his ears to commence accumulating oil and gas prone acerage in oily Central Australia.

secondly- most of us are aware that Falcon have only recently just increased their acerage in NT in the Beetaloo Basin in NT also. However with limited time,I have only now just read the Ryder Scott reports of the unrisked prospective best resource estimates of 19 billion barrels of oil and 64TCF of gas. Very positive imho. I apologise if this has already been brought up in the past, but let this be the real reality check. Let emotion not force your hand to exit your position in this company on the dips as you may not have the amazing opportunity to re-enter at the same position.

sorry for the information overload posters but i would also suggest to have a look at the site link http://www.pesa.com.au/publications/pesa_news/aug_05/pesanews_7718.html
it is a while back (2005) but it gives insight on what attracted JH to the NT. very interesting to read. if anything the summary below says it all:
The future looks bright for the offshore/onshore petroleum industry in the Northern Territory. In an era of surging energy prices, global interest in frontier basins is pertinent to the onshore basins of the Northern Territory, which are truly ‘greenfields’ exploration areas caught up in an exploration time warp. The CABS Symposium will provide the latest thinking on these areas.
