i live in perth too and know what your talking about

i buy both carnarvon and qld bananas from the markets in subi and i know the fruit seasons very well know, down to weeks, not months

the qld ones i think are pretty awful at this time now because of the warmth in the air and how green they are picked prior to transport

it helps to chill them in the fridge, but if the banana hasnt ripened just right they are awful in taste and texture

we are in a bit of a black spot at this time of year for fruit

i recommend watermelon right now and soon cantaloupe
