Yes, SuperAntiSpyware is cool to have and very useful.


Another tool when the shit hits the fan is a couple of essentials that I use to do these type of jobs all the time.

CCleaner - its free and cool, use it to control startup stuff so you only have AVG and Audio, Spyware starting up.

For bad Hijacking, as mentioned HiJackThis.
But make sure you have this:


Smitfraud also known as SmitfraudFix.exe

You boot your computer to safemode (hit F8 on startup)
then choose SAFEMODE then run the SmitFraud.exe etc

It creates a folder and may contain RunThis.bat
It searches other well know variants in safemode and blitzes the stuff. Continue right through to the end.

Then run a CCleaner to clean some Registry stuff and unwanted files etc.

Then Reboot to normal mode (ps: Always specify a password.)
(Always rename the Adminstrator Account to Admin555 or whatever and also password that account too).

Tweak a few services also that are not needed.
ie: turn of File Sharing in network settings /tcp/ip properties etc

Turn off Remote Access and Telnet or other non needed services too.

Along with your Antispyware and Antivirus you should be fine.

Also if you have a SPI Firewall on your ADSL modem/router set the packet filterning to High and allow only ports you need for whatever progams.

So there is a bit more ARmoury for you to contend with your battles.
