The questionable logic of QAN in pitching the new issue price at $4.20 is currently costing the small investor heaps.
Assuming the small investor holds 8,200 QAN he will be offered another 1,000 at $4.20. Based on the previous QAN close, if one takes up the offer then the average price for the 9,200 will be $4.64.
That compares to the current price of $4.44.
Ah well, at least the insto's will be able to book a healthy trading profit by arbitraging their allocations.
