The other 49% wouldn't be bought at a leisurely pace... with BCP owning shares purchased at 5.5c (by those who couldn't see true value and were easily suckered) and the the remaining holders being those who expect a fairer price or are happy to have BCP as a major partner, it is likely the offer for remaining shares will come quickly before SP appreciates to much. If the offer doesn't come (highly unlikely given the companies motives for complete ownership) then SP should still appreciate on enhanced management and more sensible company direction and what is in the pipeline (Linnepan and increased reserves)... the wake up call has happened.
