Both FXJ and TEN have kicked up today, and the reason being given is that they have had a meeting view some possible merger connection. But that is being dismissed as too hard. So extremely unlikely. Fairfax would have to dispose of radio etc.

Gina Rinehart is reported to be exiting the TEN board, but retaining her shareholding.

It must be frustrating for Fairfax not to have the money needed to exert its influence more widely. They tend to distort the news as much by what they leave out of stories, as what they include. Very subtle and safe from criticism, but they are constantly unmasked by the Murdoch press.
