The company AVZ did a Capital Raising in February. A Capital Raising is where a company issues new shares in return for cash. These shares have all been bought by sophisticated investors (read lots of money) and institutions. The issue price at the time of the raising was determined as 2c. These shares have all been placed already to those who participated in the raising.
They were required under ASX listing rules to get the approval of shareholders to actually ratify these shares. Which has now happened.
Those shares have a cost base of 2c, the same as anyone else who bought at 2c. If the holders who are in receipt of those shares wish to sell they will be at market price. i.e currently 4.1c.
You guys aren't getting 2c shares and are unlikely to ever see that price again.
But please for the love of god do some research otherwise the market (not to mention HotCopper) will eat you alive.

Mate,
I'm struggling to find where I state I'm going to walk into a heap of shares at 2c? Also as I did mention, I understand the capital raise, and the mechanics behind it- so spare me your sarcasm.
I don't understand the scorn and derision of a bloke buying his first set of shares (tradinggod), when all he is trying to do is as you say "research the market".
All the best
