Sounds to me they are simply speaking on behalf of women in the industry, who are still subject to sexual harassment but don't have a voice. Raising awareness and all that.
I dont get the 'woe is me' take. If anything, it exemplifies Smith's no-nonsense approach which is probably why she has endured the industry for so long and is getting things done (now) at ASM.
I can't stand woke virtue signalling or victim role playing either but I don't think that is what's happening here.
