I dont wish to appear negative but in my view it is impossible to come up with a scientific model that works.

The reason, in a nutshell, is market sentiment. More particularly, there is only one certainty in the share market. That is that it overreacts. It overreacts to bad news and it overreacts to good news. That, in my experience is impossible to quantify. How does one quantify sentiment? (Nevertheless, recognising that fact one can use it to advantage deciding when to buy and when to sell.)
