Just reading a story in my local free paper...

    Some of the text... (verbatim)

"The Public Service union has expressed its opposition to a proposal to introduce a trial needle exchange program at a new jail in Canberra, saying it could lead to prison officers being put at risk accross Australia.

The union expressed fears that needles given to inmates could be used as weapons againts prison officers, and if introduced in Canberra could be rolled out in other jails, including (local facility).

The ACT government is yet to make a final decision on whether to go ahead with its plans."
