For instance in Vic if you want to build a couple of units on
a block ZONED as units; it could still take two years to get approval.
A block of land opposite mine took three years before they got the piece of paper.
Council planning dept over a year; aboriginal artifacts search nearly a year and a
$250,000 bribe to get them off the property.
In that time timber and concrete price doubled
builder had deposits and had to renegotiate.
Fixed price contracts killed a slew of builders.
It is ridiculous for council to spend millions on new office fit outs
when they cant process a piece of paper for months.
Let them sit at old desks.
