Not sure who recycled this old story but. Was anbody here on HC investing in property in the 80s when Hawke and Keating abolished Negative Gearing. Within two years rents went up and investors fled to other areas. The start of Mc Mansions when people put their money into principle residence or share market. House prices did not go down but new investment and supply dried up. They reintroduced NG. No Govt, has ever tried since because they know that if private investors do not provide the housing the Government will have to. Move on people this is starting to sound like a social agenda forum.
