    blueballs, totally agree that it should be allowed for new housing for a short to medium term investment. Other than that it has done very little to create affordable rent and increase housing supply.

    The original intent for negative gearing to create private investment in property to provide affordable rental accommodation? Since we now have both all time high house prices and rental accommodation, has this policy failed especially as it is costing tax payer $3 billion dollar a year.
