The article highlights the risks with UCG. DrP if you are out there I will ask my question to you again. What is the chance of a successful trial burn. In my limited research on UCG I have found 5 trial burns that have failed. 2 in the US where they contaminated the groundwater, 2 in Russia and the most spectacular one was where an underground explosion nearly wiped the site off the face of the planet.
Is this why UCG has not been taken up before?
