SmartTrans Holdings (ASX:SMA) telecom behemoth China Mobile has commenced negotiations over the use of the formers mobile application management platform for the latters 508 million customers.
The SmartTrans Mobile Telephone Application Management Platform is designed to manage the distribution of applications and digital content such as games, animation, music and other media.
The companies have signed a MoU stipulating they will commence commercial negotiations as soon as possible.
Under the proposal, China Mobile will deliver the software pre-installed on new mobile phones for its network, and make it available for download in the Shanxi province.
In exchange, SmartTrans will likely receive an upfront license fee, an annual maintenance fee and a cut of the revenue from each application downloaded via the system.
