Neighborhood Cable Ltd 15th June 2004
Media Release
Neighborhood Cable leads the way
Neighborhood Cable Ltd (NCA) today announced No Risk Broadband, a new high-speed internet
product featuring a huge 12GB monthly download, no excess usage charges, free in home installation
and no long-term contract. No Risk Broadband is available to new Neighborhood Cable customers in
Geelong, Ballarat, and Mildura and is designed to take make it simple for customers making the move to
broadband.
Neighborhood Cable CEO, Fred Grossman, said No Risk Broadband again demonstrated the
company’s commitment to bringing regional Australians innovative and competitively priced internet
products over its telecommunications networks. “No Risk Broadband offers our regional customers a
better deal than comparable products offered in metropolitan areas. The price is mind blowing at $39.95
per month and we offer free in-home installation. We offer new customers the chance to try this
amazing offer on a three-month contract; the same customers on most of our competitors’ packages are
asked to sign up for 12 months,” Mr Grossman said.
The new No Risk Broadband service offers high speed internet (256/64 kbps) with:
• Three month contract with free installation
• 12 GB download with no excess usage charges
• Priced at a mind blowing $39.95 per month
• Low set up fee of $120
Neighborhood Cable continues to deliver great broadband telecommunications value to customers on its
networks, again leaving these regional Australians way ahead of their major metro counterparts in terms
of access to great value broadband.
Neighborhood Cable led the way in 2002 with its revolutionary $34.95 Broadband package, which at the
time was priced well below any product available in the market. Only in recent months have the major
telecommunications players delivered these sorts of prices to their customers.
“We are now delivering the “triple play” of voice, data and Cable TV to our regional customers - cutting
edge telecommunications at affordable prices. With the launch of this latest product, No Risk
Broadband, customers can have it all; high speed, peace of mind with no excess charges, free
installation and no early termination charges.” Said Mr Grossman.
In late 2003 in Ballarat, and early 2004 in Geelong and Mildura, Neighborhood Cable launched its
telephone service, Chatphone, which offers customers un-timed fixed price calls to Melbourne, Sydney
and Brisbane. For these residents one hundred years of the tyranny of distance collapsed with the
introduction of this service.
Customers are continuing to respond strongly to Neighborhood Cable’s service offerings, with
subscriptions to its voice service Chatphone growing strongly as the residents of Ballarat, Geelong and
Mildura enjoy the freedom of choice following Telstra’s recent phone line rental increases.
