Try a burglar alarm with a sound sensor in the circuit. Go out and leave the sound of the alarm to the neighbours. Only the police can legally turn it off. After many call outs they and other neighbours may turn their attention to the 'neighbours from hell".
Barking dogs are also useful if they are 'sound bytes' downloaded from internet and burnt on to a CD. Play the CD on continuous and go out.
Is the house rent being declared to Tax dept? Find out owners name and become informer.
Dynamic Lifter on garden nearest the neighbours windows and doors can spoil the beer drinking!
As for reasoning with immature people, forget it. After complaining about a cat spending nights on our patio furniture and leaving hair and smell the neighbour did this......threatened physical violence, vandalised sprinkler system and threw rocks onto our roof...not unusual reaction from pet owners!
The cat trap is not far away, and a cat haven many kilometres distant is its destination.
So it is best to ignore the neighbours but become another 'neighbour from hell'. Push the neighbours to go too far.
All I have mentioned are legal but annoying to others.
