Neil, remember when in December I said March would be about the time they could finish the milling? You came up with all the milling rates such as 60 feet a day. You should have told GDN about that, hell, they would be finished by now with your rates. When I said March, I DID NOT include the time it will take to repair/cement the casing. Neil, you have stated many times that the cement is OK, you even told us about Schlumbergers super tool that will do the job, well Neil, if they have run the tool, they have wasted about US$125,000. You see, you only run that tool after you have drilled out the casing hanger and float collar. You would not want to run it twice,(mind you, nothing would suprise me with GDN). Now let's move on to the milling. It is normal to take as much time to mill the last one third, as it did to mill the first two thirds. The last meter could take up to one or two days. The trouble is that as you get to the end, all the cuttings have moved down the outside of the drill pipe, now the mill has no trouble milling the drill pipe, but the cuttings around it will turn with the mill, and act as a bearing. I have run up to 60,000 lbs on a mill and not been able to mill. The new mill bit is no big deal, they will have changed that 4/5 times all ready. Had they not been so deep in this well, they could have flushed some of the cuttings from around the drill pipe, but at this depth the mud pumps are at their max, they will be pumping at around 2,000psi. Had this this rig been bigger or had a top drive you could have been out of trouble by now. If you are not happy with the time it is taking to mill this lot out, you are going to be really upset when you see how long it will take to re-cement the casing. So Neil back to the Google, you deserve an A for effort.
