yes, I did have some goodwill for Turnbull a few months ago but his recent utterances had changed that.
If he still has that fire in his belly, and the ideals and visions to put to the country, he should go to the backbench from where he will have some freedom to win over his detractors in his party, not shackled by his shadow treasury role and also the need to uphold shadow cabinet solidarity.
Nelson's budget reply speech was lacking in substantive policy ideas. He wasted considerable time talking about how good the Howard years were, a government that the majority of voters voted out some 6 months ago. He needs to bring some new talents (if there are any in his depleted parliamentary party)to his front bench to add some firing power.
