    Moorookamick, thanks for the article linked in. I will need to read the whole paper as it is very interesting and I have a few too many commitments to attend to right now.

    I have seen in several other places a number of comments that neoliberalism (and its mate trickle down economics) is very re-distributive, but not in the way that its proponents propose. It acts to keep the bottom and middle down and give the assets and income to those at the top who already have it.

    I was especially taken by this quote on page 3 of the linked article:

    For all the talk of trickle down and opportunity for all, there is now compelling evidence for Harvey’s proposal that neoliberal initiatives are more redistributive than they are generative of economic growth, such that their principal effect is ‘to transfer assets and channel wealth and income either from the mass of the population towards the upper classes or from vulnerable to richer countries’

    This sums up the whole farce that is neoliberalism and trickle down (so called) economics.
