Common sense dictates that if the poorest persons wealth is a mathematical function of the wealthiest persons wealth that if you make the rich richer you make the poor richer too.
I'm not defending its morality. It's just theoretically sound and demonstrable.
How much of *your personal standard of living* would you be willing to give up to take money from the top end of town? Because make no mistake, that is always, always, always the outcome.
"These people" - yes, there are bad actors that believe they can push the pareto principle to even greater extremes. Guess what? They can't. They'll have their "let them eat cake" moment like all others who have tried.
