Furpo2 - we are all human, have the same joys, loves, frailties as in hatreds, competitiveness (which can be dampened, but once released it jumps out again like a Jack-in-the-Box).
I am old enough now to realise that good will is a rather precious and rare thing, but the dewey-eyed optimism of youth is something I still have at times, especially when I look at our young people - there are so many truly educated as well as moral ones among them and they often come from surprising backgrounds.
It seems we have to go 'through the fire' like a well-honed sword - to become truly human and some would say 'with God's Grace', but I am not so sure that He is interested, otherwise last century would not have played out the way it did. But I am not going to go there; I know too many people who are honest and deep believers in Him, and really 'what do I know?'
