The court in California has comprehensively thrown out the patent case brought by Nestor against Transol, rejecting all the Nestor arguments.
This sends a strong message that the case brought by Nestor against Redflex, (which always looked weaker than that against Transol), has no legs.
Nestor do not have a big reserve of cash, and may not be able to stand any significant damages award, so we will could well see a further rationalization in the industry. The departure, or serious weakening, of Nestor, could only result in an improvement in the Redflex position.
