there's a simple reason really, which isn't malicious nor ulterior motive. I think they first came onto the radar after a spike 12 months ago or so, and I started researching the company and the product. if I recall correctly I initially asked what I was missing, as it didn't make sense, I asked colleagues, I asked our partners such as Cisco, Silverpeak, VMware, (I can throw out names like JT does with JD.com as wellbut actually have a working relationship with them)
I like to do my due diligence, it was then I noticed how similar it was to another 'exciting hyped to the max' China tech company, SmartTrans. which I freely admit I got burnt on, it was the same pattern, the same spiel, you'd almost think they were reading from the same playbook.
it's because of my experience, and knowledge in the field, and what people are actually using, that I'm simply trying to provide a counterpoint to the endless optimism for this vapourware.
I actually went back through iwg and net ann's trying to count the cap raises etc to answer my own question above, but honestly gave up. What was interesting though was all the announcements about projected revenue, all theses sales and projects, all these partnerships shortly followed by a cap raise and then nothing.
as for having the time to get involved. eh. I work my own hours, and in different time zones. this is a nothing effort for me.
you don't have to respect me or my opinion, don't really care much to be honest, I'm just saying do your own research, without the rose tinted glasses, understand fundamentally what they are trying to do and sell, and more specifically solve.
then go look at what's already in the market, go look at the political landscape, understand that, just because they say something, doesn't make it true.
if you want details, or comparisons, or further reasons as to why the product doesn't do anything that hasn't been done already for 15 years, or the latest and greatest about SDWAN, and why the problems they claim to solve aren't problems / they can't fix those specific problems, and I'm not going to cop abuse for it, then by all means ask away, and I'll direct you at independent sources and guides, you can then consider if what they have is worth the money they've spent.
though I do admit I'm still perplexed over the recent acquisition.
