A P value of .0007 (admittedly unconventionally and unnecessarily small) means that the chances of this result being random is essentially 0; regardless of the N value. A Left Ventricular (LV) ejection fraction (ef) of 5% = being bed ridden. An increase in ef of 8% to 13% = being able to look after yourself i.e. no longer needing to be cared for (hospital, nursing home etc). FYI a healthy persons ef is about 50%. Heart disease is a major cause of disability and the population is ageing.
