They are definitely having an impact on the SP being one of the most active brokers and being net buys. Also when you are the outlier on a SP Target and have persisted to be then you are likely to be encouraging people to short it.
Them being a net buyer could be them covering their shorts, however their target doesn't appear to reflect that.
The retail investors make up a very small portion of the market, so if you don't think they have an impact that you are being a little naive.

I am positive LT on Mesoblast and that is why I am holding. I know Macquarie have had some impact on the SP but don't have a huge conspiracy as to how it is going about. All I know is broker's job is to create research and sell a story, some times that needs to be to buy a stock, sometimes that is to sell a stock.
