Yes, it happens all the time - Americans are funding and training militias or oppostion to an incumbent government in some country in order to bring that government down. And once it's done, these guys turn against the Americans. Oh yeah, morality is something that does not exist in the world of politics, morality is what us, regular people, are concerned with, imo.
Even if Hamas is no more, there will be something else for sure, probably even more hell-bent on revenge for what's happening now in Gaza and the West Bank. And it could have been so much different and so much better. All Israelis needed to have done was to include Palestinians in their newly established state in 1948 and treat them as equal, maybe with some limitations on their access to the Knesset in order to counter their majority.
