I have changed over the ICS to the ADSL connection but not by completely uninstalling, re-booting and installing on the new connection. Maybe that is the problem so I will certainly try it.
In relation to pinging, I can ping a name and the IP address is correctly returned so it would appear that DNS is available on the internet connection. The error message for the sites I cannot reach is simply "request timed out".
