The argument can be closed pretty quickly by asking for proof that a technical approach doesn't work. Few could even explain what a technical system is I bet. It's not looking at bar charts and deciding price is about to go up. What it is takes years to study and explaining it to someone who has decided that their approach is the only right approach is a waste of everyones time.
HC is a retail lead forum where the aggregate approach is to hold long based on an interpretation of company fundamentals. Very few views take an interest in market dynamics/fundamentals. Given the herds goal to make money they look for confirmation wherever it may lie which I believe is the echo chamber you see in every stock. An aggressive posture is typically taken by the most fragile when anyone comes along with a contrarian view.
90% feed the 10% for the simple fact that people are wired to prioritize the path of least resistance.
