Yep, a capital gain is a capital gain. Just depends on the type of transaction (i.e. scrip for scrip or a mix of shares and cash) regarding how you would treat it for CGT purposes. If Neuren was taken over for an all-cash offer, that's a straight up CGT event for NEU holders.
