Yep, I've got a similar approach. Core group of stocks (not too many), catalysts approaching when I'm buying in, good management, major potential for bags. I've had more hits than misses, or a least enough hits to cancel out the misses. If I'm not real bullish I put a stop loss in around my average (EYE fell out my portfolio recently), or somewhere trailing my profit (DXB, recently got hit, bye bye), but others I'll just hold and continue to average down (i.e TLG). 10 stocks max for me is enough in terms of the time i've got to keep track of what's going on. And I know enough about NEU to know we are waaay below fair value, and I'm as certain as one can be that we'll be north of our $25.00 high sooner or later. No stop losses here that's for sure!
