Candles tell a big story. The other chart tools; RSI, EMA, SMA, BBs, Fibs, etc etc are ALL derived from the data printed, generally closing price. One can learn the Algo's of these other tools (I did to understand it better), or just take it for face value of where the candle sits in reference to the line (eg emas, BB). The EMA will naturally tag the candle at some piont, as that's what the input data was, it is the timeframe then which determines this tag point. Hence our quick chat the other day of 8:20 (some us 9:21). Of topic, but helps explain candles. The body is what people remember, open and closes. However, the tails and wicks gives you the price action for the day, and the subsquent 'emotion' behind the stock. IMO. So I look for the pivot points which is exhuastion generally, up or down! The ones that I like are gravestone and dragonfly, but a few doji's also are telling. 2 days is tweezers, but I like 3 or 4, really shows the pivot point. e.g. look at esmer chart above and look at the 4 doji's before last weeks run. Very obvious. There are many, but KISS works best to start with.
