NPV doesn't work like that. They will most likely be working off a WACC of 8%-12% and using that as a discount rate. Cash now is worth more than cash later so I would be great to see how they have stacked this up. The NPV will be highly dependent on the timing of payments but it is encouraging that royalties make up the greatest portion of the NPV. A large upfront would have altered this the other way.
Lilly you are right they Management have doubled down on FDA approval as the gateway to the golden goose. If we have any hiccups Neu will be toast.
