Nash - I am totally on board with objective science but respectfully, I think you maybe are a little off base with your categorisation as pseudoscience and/or third party anecdotes.
I have direct experience with a close family member (nephew), who was a totally normal baby and hitting milestones as normal and more - he was basically crawling - until he had his 6 month vaccinations. From memory, his parents even waited until he was 7 months for his 6 month immunisation.
He was very unwell after the vaccination and was not his usual self all afternoon, he was very upset and irritable. Didn't sleep and parents took turns sleeping with him to get him to sleep. He finally settled and they awoke to him gurgling and he was blue and not breathing.
He suffered permanent brain damage and is non-verbal, non-ambulatory - he is for all intents and purposes a new born. He siezes daily and has a range of other issues. No formal diagnosis either despite taking him to the best paediatric neurologist in the country - who had no idea what was/is wrong with him.
He is 17 now but is in a wheel chair/pram and in a horrible condition.
Again, I appreciate your sentiment and agree that objective science matters. That being said, I will never be convinced that he was not vaccine injured and I will never be convinced that vaccines don't carry some risk of harm despite assurances and/or liability limitations that seems to contradict that view.
Hottod has rightly pointed out a range of possible reasons why Autism is exploding in prevalence. I dont disagree with any of the interesting possible connections. I am not prepared to discount vaccines though. It would be hubris of the highest order to do so and I think after what we have seen with COVID, we should be open to the possibility, if nothing else. We should be willing to explore the reason(s), whatever they are and I absolutely don't think we can just dismiss any and/or all anecdotes as pseudoscience.
