Yes mate I don't disagree with your general sentiment either. The first rule of science is facts are only true until we prove them wrong. I myself developed heart pain shortly after I received covid vaccine (no idea yet what it is despite numerous tests and it has been ongoing). No idea if just coincidence either or there is a direct cause, what I do know is that a) vaccines save far more lives than they negatively impact and b) all the people that are clueless when it comes to science and understanding it, now have a platform through social media. One bad vaccine experience does not make vaccines bad. Trofinetide has not been great for about half the Retts population - do we recommend all Rett sufferers stop taking trof because it caused serious side effects in about half? (not to take away from your nephews awful experience either)

RE hubris over autism/vaccine attitude. I have actually heard some experts speak on the matter and like dumbpostavenger alluded to, there have been some large studies that have already shown there is no autism link to vaccines. The studies have been done. And getting a vaccine sceptic (David Geier) who has already tried to link vaccines to autism to run the latest 'study' is not going to help anyone's trust in science, but further push us into tribal pots of science believers on one side and those that are sceptical and conspiracists on the other.
