If you don't have significant news carefully scheduled to 'unfurl' roughly every three months, then it seems some kind of shorting opportunity opens up and there are always takers for that dead 'airspace'.

Telix is of a scale (mostly its pipeline) where this seems to have been a protective mechanism for their share price, and even though some of those announcements have been less than ideal, they have another announcement coming, and then another, which seems to increase the risk and stay the hand where shorting is concerned.

For smaller biotechs like Neuren, this 'scheduling' of important pipeline news is too difficult. When you tell the investment community you are going the P3 pat, the first thing they ask is how long will that take (often before, how much will that cost), and I'm starting to recognize that this question is nothing to do with the science, but a calculation of that available 'dead airspace' and how much risk-free, no-news time is available to get into and out of short positions. 'When' and 'how long' questions are increasingly dominating the Forum's thinking and chatter, and whether long or short, they are just different sides of the same coin for what is a differentiated investment community using 'the news' to plan and strategize.
