I've worked in synthetic chemistry and the structure of 2591 is very accessible. When going to the high purity levels required in drugs for trials then that adds another level of complexity that has to be factored in but overall the reduced amount and simple structure would almost certainly be providing significant cost savings for the manufacturing process.
Also I was amazed at the dose required for Daybue and not surprised there are issues with GI. 2591 is a huge advance on that front!
