Same same but different. Both are designed to be used in edge devices but the similarities stop about there. Weebit is dedicated memory and Akida is a turnkey processor. Weebit is designed to supplement processors but chips like Akida, which has its own in-built memory, may not find much use for supplementary memory.
They're probably where BRN was 6-12 months ago going through design but based on recent announcements they are on-track to hit production in 2021.
