I also know what its like to have put a lot of money into various MIS projects and still have a couple of projects under finance.

I don't think a sharp lawyer or anyone else is going to be able to come up with ways to prevent debts due to Great Southern or Adelaide Bank etc being recovered.

Great Southern will have taken personal guarantees from everyone that went into a financed project and these guarantees will be hard to beat.

In late 1980 and early 1990 the Supreme Courts in every state were swamped with personal guarantee cases and I know that the guarantors in at least 95% of these cases either settled with the creditor bank or had judgment made against them.

In my case I beat the bank but it consumed me for the best part of five years and I was lucky to recover 100% of my very considerable costs.

It now looks to me like the courts are once again going to be inundated with guarantee cases and I will do what ever I can to avoid having to go down that road again.
