I wouldn't fly with anyone else domestically. The other 'two-bit' operators in Australia are laughable.
When we flew to Broome here in WA just prior to Christmas during the recent cyclone Qantas were the only company willing to land! Skywest & Virgin pilots wouldn't do it, perhaps too inexperienced?
My advice is pay the extra for the quality of Qantas and you won't be the one stuck at the airport when the flight doesn't even get off the ground OR get stung by their hidden fees ;) Afterall one gets what one pays for.
