Yeah, I agree, tradie, a bit naughty: Luke Cox did say "I know for a fact this is where the high grade gold is" at around the 45 second mark. He may argue that he was referring to that type of rock formation being where high grade gold might be found but the camera zoomed in on the ground at his feet as he made the claim so likely a tad too cavalier.
Anyway, while I'm here I thought I would check out LC's work background. Seems he might be a mining ronin, a mercenary who roams the sector providing services. His last gig was CEO at a junior lithium explorer in Ontario, Green Technology Metals (ASX: GT1). He held the job there for about three years from their IPO until finishing up in July last year. A couple of possible reasons why he moved on from GT1was that the company had moved through its exploration and resource development phases into financing and investment decisions, and, the company wanted the management to relocate to Canada from Perth. Both are fair enough and the parting seemed amicable. Before then he looks like he traveled the world.
That he finished up with GT1 on 19 July last year and has said he started with Caprice on 8 September suggests he's got bills to pay and / or is a willing worker. And that he got a few holes put into the Murchison block before Christmas backs up he's not one to sit on his hands.
I like LC's idea of going for cheap and easy for a MRE at the New Orient mine site. With record gold prices, why not! But of course the main bait out there is that perhaps maybe there is potential heading south of the NO mine site towards the area known as Vadrians Hill which maybe perhaps might be analogous to the Break of Day mine now owned by Ramelius (part of the Cue Project picked up in the takeover by Ramelius of Musgrave Minerals in 2023) and which is just south of the Island area. link, here. The info about the Golconda mine is a particularly good read to see how fortunes were won and lost chasing gold there over a century ago. Useful to know that back in those days the miners did not go too far underground as they found the grades quickly fell away the deeper they dug. LC likely makes a fair point though that back then they were chasing ounces per tonne whereas in current times we can make do with grams per tonne.
