We have been informed by a Group Member in the PIF Class Action that he has received a number of telephone calls which appear to be an attempt to scam him out of money by persons purporting to have an involvement in the PIF Class Action.
We gather from the Group Member that he first received a call several days ago from a woman claiming to be from the Commonwealth Government, and also representing an Indian firm of solicitors. The caller told the Group Member that the Indian firm could arrange for a payment of proceeds of the PIF Class Action, but the Group Member would first need to pay a fee to be wired to an Indian account.
This is a scam – definitely not send any money.
This matter has been reported to the Police and to the regulatory authorities. Please let us know if you have been contacted by scam operators.
