A shaft is for a high(er) tonnage project. IGO wished that was what it would be. But a sprinkling of geotechnical reality showed that the only large stopes they will be mining will be of the self caving type.The only logical option as that point was to stop the CAPEX bleeding and re-look at the sums for a lower tonnage, smaller stope project - which can be done with a trucking fleet. Maybe.
